This guitar looks, sounds and plays beautifully. It is all original and an early serial number. In excellent condition. There are three very hard to see hairline finish cracks. They do not follow the grain. I did manage to capture them in the photos accurately. One extends down from the end of the fretboard about 4inches, another, an inch and a half from behind bridge at the high E, a third fingernail in size and shape just above low "E" toward the fret board. All are difficult to see. The quarter sawn AAA spruce soundboard and 5 layer wood binding are flawless and have aged to a rich honey color. The back is flawless. The 24k machines, headstock, neck and frets are in excellent condition. The action is low and fast, no string buzz. There is minor play ware on the fretboard at the first three frets, but has no effect on the sound or playability. The OP mono/stereo electronics and pickups are perfect. OHSC. $900-includes shipping to the lower forty eight. All other destinations, shipping at cost TBD. This guitar will not be sold on Ebay or the like. I am only going to offer it to OFC members and friends. In March '05 a 1537 sold on ebay for over $1000 plus shipping. And we're all off playing our CVT's. Good work Jeff finally dumping that boat-anchor. There's no sucker like a new-member sucker. Dave

Then, while keeping mine and maybe one for a backup, I'll sell them all and buy an OFC'er, a 12 fret slothead, a new Adamas, and maybe a few others. With what's left of the profit, I'll take my family on vacation.....

It's the one guitar that I pick up when it's got to sound great (it sounds much better than I play). It feels right, looks right, and sounds right. I've had mine now for 12 years and was one of the first, on this board, owners of a 1537. Everybody on the board who has aquired one since has commented on what a great guitar it is. They are right. One last thought. When you get your 1537, and have cleaned it up (probably won't need it coming from Jeff) and put strings on it (I'd recommend mediums for the best, most full sound), and have played it for a while, have a friend who's a good player play it while you sit across from him/her. The sound will just jump out at you. They sound even better from in front of the guitar than they do from behind the guitar.
