| Hi everybody , i'm about to buy an Ovation second hand guitar , i'd like to
get info on the model but i'm not able to find the correct model of the
guitar i want to buy on the ovationguitars.com website ...I can see inside on the sticker the
model 1768 ...It's look like an original Ovation product , i can see the USA
and Kaman word writen on that sticker ...i can also see a serial number that
i don't have whit me now ...Could you please informe me more on that kind of
model , it's look like a Elite model but i can not confirm ..please give me
a hint .!$$$ the guitar as a original case and it's in very good condition ... |

A little information about the 1768. It is an Elite, deep bowl and cutaway. Manufactured between 1986 - 1999. If you find the serial number you can use the "Reference Section" to pinpoint the year it was manufactured. If you want a "guesstimate" on it's value, they seem to be going between $400 - $600 on E-bay. Run a search on "Elite" on the bulletin board to get some interesting recent comments of the Elite. | Hi Patsbro , thank's for your reply , i't look like i have a 30th anniversary elite guitar that may worth more than 600 $ Steve music from montreal is telling me that the guitars can be sale for 1200 canadians $ Do you know about maybe special edition of Elite products ? |

Location: Phoenix AZ | If the complete model number is 1768-7-LTD, that is the deep cutaway elite "book" guitar. It is a special version elite and the one featured on the cover of the "History of Ovation" book. It has MOP binding everywhere including the complete neck and headstock. No fretboard markers, just "1966-1996" MOP at the 12th fret. Optima electronics with Hi and low Z output. Not many of these were made and it is a super nice guitar. List new was $3030. Dave |
