| Hi,
I wonder if you folks could help me out with a couple of things.
I traded for this guitar a while back, have had it set up and have had the frets leveled. This is my fist Ovation/Adamas...have played mainly a Talamine and Martin dread for the past 20 yrs. I thought this would be a good guitar for gigging over my Martin (as the Martin's action is a bit higher, not cutaway, no preamp)
I love the sound and playability of the Adamas, but have two issues:
1. Is there a way to adjust the guitar so that it does not "bounce around" while playing...combination of round back and round belly don't seem to mix! I though sitting down and playing would be an issue, but it is actually comfortable to play while sitting.
2. Our bass player is loud, causing my guitar to vibrate/buzz. I really don't want to raise the action as I like the playability now. This is not usually a factor when I have played out, probably because the space is less confined, but it is an issue in practice. I have heard of "filling" a guitar to prevent feedback, but don't want to do anything that could damage it, and I do like to play it unplugged. I tried the rubber hole blockers but that didn't help.
I like the guitar, but these two issues keep bugging me and I would rather play the guitar than fight with it! :)
Any advice tips would be appreciated. |

Getting used to holding with the bounce a bit.
Sometimes wearing it above the gut can cut it too. |

| Looks good...If I can figure out the buzzing I think I will give it a shot!
Thanks :) |

I would check that you don't have a loose brace or something else causing the problem
I had a peculiar resonant type buzzing in my Slothead, that was the problem.
A dab of superglue....no more buzz.

| I just checked and did have a loose brace...just super-glued it back. (Had a close call almost getting my finger permanently glued to the brace!)
That would make a lot of sense as to it being the cause because it was an unusual sounding buzz. Thank you!!
Hopefully that will do the trick. :) |
