You'd have to go a long way (a REALLY long way!!) to the left to find a better example than one that happened here a while back. Our decidely left-leaning government gave a local 'artist' 10's of thousands of dollars for an 'exibit' that was comprised entirely of nailing dead rabbits to trees (I kid you not...). Scarier than the thought process that could come up with this nonsense, is the totally unbridled funding process that would approve it... It makes me laugh when they say, "... you just don't understand it...". Yeah, just one of the things I am really glad about... ;) :D

I'm sure he isn't short of cash. That isn't the case here. The Manitoba government is running a $550 million deficit on a $12.5 billion (headed to 14 for 2012...) provincial debt (it isn't a big place, so that is a HUGE amount of money!!). Government arts funding might be a moral booster (to the clique-ish, mocha-sipping bohemian crowd...) but in the current economic climate it's insulting to the people that are carrying the weight and by-and-large would rather see their bunnies hopping around than nailed to trees... Again, sorry for the generalization. Whenever I hear about avant-art, I usually just assume the taxpayer is getting it in the neck somewhere along the line...

It's just after years and years of Law Enforcement and going to crime scenes where a person was arrested that showed similar traits. Either in the Art's or just in a confused reality. But come on there has got to be someone to step up and say enough. The art of subways, a 10 year old could map out the subway, let the computer make sounds at intersections, could of at least had a nice music box sound to it. I along with many members here spend years working with music, adjusting and re adjusting our craft to give enjoyment to others. What a waist of Money. I guess I've said enough
