I must confess!! It was me. I probably should not have bought this as I had just gotten a MIJ Tak that I had been wanting - but it was too nice of a deal. I'm looking forward to this one.

Congratulations Alan! That WAS a good deal.. I've got the sunburst version and had it reworked at the factory also, so I know what it cost to have all that work done. You got a GREAT deal. Mine play and sounds great also. The neck plays like a solid body electric, just as the ad states.

Nice git, I have been on the good end of a couple of those and it is fun. I was watching that add myself...but it has been pointed out to me that I have "enough" guitars :) .

Hey Vince. Yeah it looks bad, but on the original listing you will notice there were no bidders. This original listing was discussed on this forum and is still available to read - it's the one with subject "Refurbished CL on ebay". Shouldn't be a problem. Seller has 100$ feedback with almost 300 transactions. Thanks though for the heads-up.

If I didn't already have an almost indentical model I'd have been all over this like a hobo on a hot dog.

Even tho' I really didn't have the money for that guitar, I bid on it. Lost it by a few bucks but I wouldn't go over my max.

That's a really rare find. A 33 year old top that's been refinished by the factory with the whole guitar gone thru. There's not a doubt in my mind that this guitar would sound just wonderful. Put on medium phos/bronze strings, adjust the action, play play play! An old A braced deep bowl in that condition may be one of the best configurations that Ovation ever built.

It was worth the initial $1200 price and is an absolute bargin at $520 (actually, more like a steal!).

I've got an aunt and uncle up in Carson City and was planning on driving up and picking up the guitar and staying for a day or two for a visit. Oh well. Glad it's going to another OFC'er.

By the way, the two guitars that I pick up the most are my OFC I slothead and my rebuilt A braced Legend. Both are great guitars, and I rank the Legend up with the slothead. Which is interesting because the slothead is worth about 5-6 times what the Legend is worth. Maybe more....

Allen, Thanks for the heads up, but I actually figured that out and tried to pull my comments before they got out ... thus the blank post above. I WAS freaking out for a minute when I thought you had been taken. Nice to know all is well though ... Don't forget to give us a report on it when it arrives (: If it plays half as good as it looks, it's gonna' be a great guitar.

I saw the previous ad had closed with a sale and someone was using the old photos to run a scam. I got a little anxiety for nothing.
