Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | Hey, you guys have been talking about me while I was gone? First Trader was kind enough to mention "big butt", and now Jim E has me lettering his guitar cases! :D
Anyway, all of my cases are as distinctive as the guitars that go in them. One has a bubble where it got left near a heater one night, one has a little red heart the previous owner stuck on it, one has the model and serial numbers written in black sharpie that the previous owner was kind enough to put on it, one is pristine, etc. And yes, the guitars are all hanging, and they all get played. |

The engraved plate is also a nice touch Patch. |

Location: Jersey near NYC | I've tried almost everything and it seems like it either fell off the case or left a mess.
I took a tip from cases I see coming in from touring clients-silver metallic Sharpie on black gaffer's tape. I label the back end of the case and also the side of the case near the handle. The better gaffer tape doesn't seem to leave residue, and I can rip it off and reuse it if I lend the instrument out. I can also use this 'system' on amp road cases that look alike, amp racks, etc. Be prepared, though, a 60 yard roll of the good stuff is 20-30 bucks.

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Dang! I forgot about using vinyl. If the case doesn't have any type residue it would work for non-road use. I actually own a 24" vinyl cutter and used to run a home-based sign shop. 'Worked out of a large step van (mobile business) and called it "Vincent-Van-Goes!Signs&Graphics" It was a great idea, but not up here where it's cold for half the year. Now it will be a retirement business. Anyway ... back to the case thing ... Kim's tape thing sounds good also. |
