Has a nice article on Applauses in the newest edition.

Nice to see an "O" get some air time.

Is an old Applesauce really considered "vintage" or just old?

That's the question I have everytime I see the word "vintage" show up on an ebay auction.....

I don't know what vintage means either but I think that the early Applauses made in Moosup with the aluminum fretboard and urelite neck should certainly be collectable. Those guitars were more than just less expensive Ovations, they were a new and different approach. I had one as my first "real" guitar in mid-70s and sold it to a friend who still has it. I've tried to buy it back but he has several very nice "name brand" guitars and he will not part with the A because it is the one he plays the most.

Mine still plays great! The frets and the "binding" are a bit worn, but the top is in excellent shape - not a crack or a scratch.

Got it new around 35 years ago.

"Vintage guitars are certainly a used guitar however Vintage guitars are a select group of used guitars differentiated from other used guitars by generally being built between the end of WWII and prior to the 1980’s."

Vintage means something old that is still desirable, and those wanting it are willing to pay more than origial price.
