I thought the Blackbirds were interesting and fun, but you've got to plug them in to get any really good sound out of them....
Since I would use it for recording and as a lay around tv guitar I think it might be perfect.
Comfortable, nice sound unplugged and I really liked the neck which is really key to me.
Plus I wouldn't have to worry about the Colorado humidity issues like a classical with a cedar top.

First Impressions....
I really wasn't quite sure what to expect but here's the short list.

Opened up my 2010LE about 2 hours ago....

I'm not quite sure where to start...

1) I love the contour bowl
2) This is such a beauty... number 10/50.
3) Such a full, rich, warm sound. But the words fall short as this baby seems to redefine what "full", "rich" and "warm"....mean.
4) I found a flaw in the top that has me wrapped around the axle but shouldn't.
Very tiny piece of dust/dirt in the finish with the tiniest of divots
over the top of the dust spot... The divot is in the shape of a half moon with the tiniest of lengthwise lines in the finish on each side of the dirt spot. When I say "tiny" I mean really really tiny. Smaller than a pinhead. Should I take a macro photo of it and send it to Ovation?
When I set it down I think... "Man I didn't need that"... What was I thinkin." ..until I pick it up to play it again....
Gorgeous.....pictures in a few days.

WOW. The more I play this guitar the more I love it. Sound is not like your typical elite. More like an elite with testicles. I'll try to do some sound clips maybe this weekend.

Bookends? I understood that 50/50 was available. Would sure be a nice mate to 1/50 but I don't think I can swing it right now. If you're interested in it you might want to call Al as soon as possible.

I think the factory is sold out, or at least down to the last few. That's really good news. Gee a limited edition guitar that might actually be collectable. Of course not good news if you're a procrastinator, but oh well.

Hard not to be impressed by the sound, but I gotta tell you starting to think the best part is the dang adamas style neck. Just wonderful, as is the heel cap and the 1537 type headstock overlay. They really didn't hold back on this one at all. If anything they might regret only building 50 of them.

Play on.
