I'm always amazed at the great songs that are written with 3 or 4 chords...usually G,C,D, and sometimes Em.
My wife recently asked me to learn a song that meant a lot to her. 3 chords.

My hero!

My problem is that I really like tunes written by Jimmy Webb and he puts together some of the most interesting chord progressions. I'm working on a tune by him, No Signs of Age, and it's a bear trying to do it with 3 chords....

While back I was out playing on the bus bench...

This Ol' Hippie Chick (my age) was sitting next to me on her lunch break and she commented,
"As long as you know those three chords you got it made!" :p

"Those three chords" at that moment were C, G & Am...
Which cover 'Simple Man' and a half dozen other songs if you add a D, or a Fmaj7 every-so-often.

But, alot of "Three Chord Guitar's" songs actually have 4 chords, or they should.
Knocking on Heaven's Door really needs four chords, contrary to what alot of people play.
