Are you talking about her falling over recently, or the love affair with guitars type of hit??? ;)

Beautiful guitar!

I've been lusting after that one ever since Mitzdawg outbid me for it last spring.

Thought I had it once a couple of months ago, but I guess it wasn't to be.

I'm glad to see it has found a good home.

Did you get the bass also?

Oh, Gene ... you are too kind ... thank you! You like black eyes then?

Deb ... thank you, my dear.

Fletch, I'm pretty sure you have quite a collection yourself already ... I have lots of guitars, but only one shiny bowl!

How quickly were these guitars aquired, over what time period?

Patsy, I have always loved Ovations and Adamas guitars. I thought/think they are unique, beautiful and iconic.

My first was a plumburst Celebrity CS-257.
I stumbled upon a bit of good fortune (acquired via a very, very bad misfortune that I will NOT go into here) and because of the circumstances, I gave most of it away, and saved a teensy bit for myself for GAS. The rest of it all is a bit of a blur.

I love my gits like puppies and kittens and rotate them on a regular basis. Presently, however, I've only got a few out and the rest are 'put up' in their coffins, stored at another, climate controlled, easily accessible location so that I can change 'em out as I like. Like Damon's sig line says "How many guitars are enough? Just one more." I have a few non-Ovation guitars too.

I've raised three sons and devoted my life, heart and the best care I knew how, to my family. So, I'll leave my boys a guitar museum when I'm gone, and they can all talk about how crazy Mom was ... :D This guitar stuff, I do for ME. I only wish I was a bit more handy with the technical aspects of the hobby/habit whatever ... I can change the strings, lol, and that's about it. I wouldn't dare pop out a shim or fool around with a truss rod ... that's for the guitar hospital or the MS, I guess.

;)

That is a beautiful guitar Willa!
It really makes me miss my Dad's shiney bowl DB all the more.
You ave some really pretty ones to be sure.
My kids have dibs on my guitars too.
Kaitlynn gets the 88, she doesn't play but thinks "It's Cool".
Brandon gets the 68 DB (dang, third generation O owner) and the OIF-OX.
My honey gets the 12 CL cause like it, she's one of a kind, but Brandon will end up with that one too I'm sure.

Willa, I wish we lived closer so I could help you with any adjustments your guitars might need.

My "stable" isn't as large as some, but I don't have any kids to leave them to when I'm gone. My will leaves everything to Jarrett, but there is a note tucked in there requesting that he pass along certain guitars to certain friends. I won't mention any names, but SOMEBODY on this board is going to be very happy when I die. Hmm...that doesn't sound quite right. OK, let me try again. I'm sure there ARE some who won't mind my passing, but there are others who might feel bad, but when they get their guitars, I know they will always think of me.

Alison, I love your spirit.

I want mine to go to people who will play them and love them also. I have already told my boys who my guitars should be given to if they don't want them and it will be in my will also.

But we're still here, and in my case, TRYING to make some kind of music (while you DO make beautiful music). Maybe not exactly "Spring Chickens" but perhaps some "Dixie Chickens" mixed in with a little cordon bleu ... hmmm?

Ahhhhh....the satisfaction of another beauty in one's stable. (Aren't you glad that you're not into racehorses? My daughter is the horse lover, and that's a way more expensive hobby than a guitar or two here and there.....)
Pretty soon, though, you're going to have to charge admission... ;) :D
As for where mine go after I'm gone, why, as long as they're all flanked around me for my "final presentation," ;) what more can I ask? And when my friends say, "My, doesn't she look good?" most likely they'll be discussing one of the group in the Hercules stands! :D
So glad she's given you a spot of cheer in the midst of this trying time.
