| Ovation has one of the best looking sunburst. I was just looking at a picture of a custom legend 1779 (?). Why is it not currently a standard on any American made model? Does no one else like it? Is this type of burst out of fashion? |

I am partial to tobacco bursts but some prefer the reddish ones while others lean toward the yellow and orangest colors.
I agree that Ovation has one of the best looking bursts....along with Collings and a few others. |

Location: Omaha, NE | I like sunbursts. But I think of them as being sort of "old fashioned", which makes them a little outside of the lines for what I think of when I think "Ovation". Ovations seem more contemporary to me. |

Location: Florida Central Gulf Coast | OK, I was duck imprinted to SBs when I was young. My Dad bought a '60 Gibby 330 SB when I was 14. To this day I judge all other SBs to that classic.
IMO, Ovations are the most consistent in the 'classic' SBs. I don't care much for the red, orange or yellow dominant bursts. That deep, rich and subtle blend/fade tobacco burst is what I appreciate the most. Ergo, my love for the 'O' SBs.
Considering the top compositions and various colors, I think that the Ovations are the most consistent and pleasing in the quality of bursts. |

Location: Canada | I find natural finishes dull and boring most times... unless it's some really nice wood with a contrasty grain. I ended up getting my ovation burst this time as I was sick of looking at normal finish guitars. When I see a really expensive guitar like a Martin for example, and it looks no different then the 300 dollar yamaha you can get from Sears, it doesn't interest me. I can appreciate the Martin for what it is, but for some reason i don't want it.
Currently saving up now for a Les Paul Supreme and sure enough, heritage cherry burst is my color of choice. |
