| It's groovy man, and far away from my home (about 2 1/2 hour drive one way, approximately 260 mi.)

The Woodstock museum is really cool. It's not just about the concert, it shows a timeline of the 1960s. I was able to see the John Lennon/Yoko Ono exhibit, which focused on the Bed-in for peace. They had a mock up suite designed to look like the one that John and Yoko stayed at.
The Hendrix and Santana fans here would have been in their glory, as they were featured prominently in a movie about the music of Woodstock.
The museum still didn't turn me into a Hendrix, Santana or Joplin fan, however.
If any downstaters are interested, I wouldn't mind seeing this museum again. Although it isn't a big museum, there is a lot to see and read, and some stuff I missed.
BTW, John Sebastian and David Grisman are coming there on 10/2. Loved their show when it was in Troy, but I don't think I'll be traveling 5 hours (RT)to see it again.

Location: Texas | Many of the "bonus" videos that came with the recent 40th anniversary box set of the Woodstock movie turned out to just be promotions for the Bethel Woods Museum. Not that the museum wouldn't be a great place to visit, I just felt that I had paid for bonus material that was actually just well-targeted advertising…
…then I finally got around to watching the disc with the actual previously-unreleased performances… and my attitude improved dramatically. There are some great performances added that made (re)buying the DVD totally worth it (IMHO.)
(The new clips are on a separate disc and not integrated into the film. They include songs by: Joan Baez, Country Joe McDonald, Santana, Canned Heat, Mountain, The Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Joe Cocker, Johnny Winter, Paul Butterfield and Sha Na Na…)
Anyway, I was a little skeptical about the museum. It's nice to hear from a trusted OFC'er that it is worth the trip, thanks for the mini-review Guitarzannie, I'll add it to my "gotta get there someday" list too… |

I think that the museum did show the previously unreleased footage that was included in your DVD.
The last day of the John and Yoko exhibit was the day that I went. The exhibits change every so often.
The one thing that I didn't get to was the exhibit where people could video record their Woodstock memories and share them with others.
Oh, and there is a part where they talk about the rain. You hear thunder and the lights simulate lightning. Really cool.

Also, I am not sure when the museum closes down for the winter.
