Some people on this list wonder how you get inside an adamas/elite that doesn't have a manhole cover. Here's how:

I was minding my own business, happily playing my guitar (and no, it wasn't over my head) which I noticed a resonating buzzing from within my beloved 08C.

Taking out the can I discovered that the cable tie, that stops the cables from bouncing around inside the guitar, had unstuck from the bowl.

Fairly simple, I just need to glue it back down.

Herein lies the dilemma. I can get my hand inside the can, but then I can't see anything. Even without my hand in the way, I still can't see.

Solution part 1: itty bitty book light. Just stick it through the soundholes and there is light:

Then I grabbed one of those flexible tools for getting things that have fallen into small spaces and used that to guide the cable tie to the right place.

Add some glue, hold it in place for five minutes... Now just to wait a few hours to check it holds and put it all back together

You should try working on a 47 reissue.

But there's nothing but air inside the #47, so why would you need to get inside?

Why do men tinker with their car engines when there is nothing wrong with them (yet)?

Tafkar,
I just wanted to say thanks for this post. My 08C arrived yesterday from Al and had a buzz emanating from the body. A quick search pointed me to this thread. Armed with the information and pictures you shared here, I pulled out the electronics to discover the cable clip was still attached to the side of the bowl, but the audio cable had slipped out. I guided the cable back in the clip and snapped the clip shut. Voila! No more buzz. Thanks again for the tech tip.

That thing is cool. Where can I get one? Tafkar, I'm glad you were able to fix it so easily.

Nick: Congratulations on your wonderful new guitar!

SEARS has 'em. Some hardware stores might have 'em also.

OK, 'Quick Draw' Arthur, ya beat me on that one!

Thanks Willa. You can expect a full report a bit later. Right now I'm overwhelmed by the sound, the feel, and the looks of my new guitar. If I wrote anything about it now I'd just embarrass myself. ;)

I may have beat you to it, but yours is better.
Anyone who wants one should get the Craftsman.
