It was a 1771 LX. It is a nice guitar, but I'm not sure it is "the one" yet. I love the neck on the Ovations I've tried. It had a nice sound, but I want a deeper, richer sound. I'm gonna also try some deep bowls when I get the chance.

This one was $699 at Daddy's, and it is a USA made brand new model.

While I was at Daddy's, I also tried a Fender Sonora acoustic electric. It was brand new, but it was piece of crap. There was a ton of fret buzz, plus the guitar just didn't sound nice.

When I first started looking at Acoustic guitars, I tried a assortment of Fender Acoustics and A/E's...
I don't wanna belittle Fender's Acoustic guitars... But I didn't buy one! :p

Yep, I fooled around with the EQ on this guitar and could not get a decent sound out of it. I don't know of anyone who has a Fender acoustic.

If you even remotely like the new Balladeer take a look at ebay. There are several 70s and 80s Legends in different varieties with deep bowls that will give you the deeper, richer sound you are looking for. They will probably sell for $300-$400. Just be sure to ask many very detailed questions to cover yourself in the event of misrepresentation. I had a case closed in my favor for a crack that was not disclosed and the new escrow policy protects buyers.

Fender acoustics are probably like Martin electrics. Martin electrics were considered the "poor stepchildren" compared to their acoustics.

I saw a guy with a nice 25 year old Balladeer. Unfortunately, though, he wasn't selling it.
