There have been many posts about the level of professional work done by the folks at the mothership...they have done many projects for me over the past few years and every one is top notch/first class! I think this one tops them all.
Brwon delivered my 1978 1687-8 #189-89 today. I opened the box, took the case out, and then paused before I opened the case because I did not know what to expect of the repairs to this "wonderful old lady" as Jerome calls her...I'll let the pictures speak for themselves but let me say that the wiring is back to original (battery box on back of access cover is functional again); the pickup is working again correctly, the action is low and sweet (neck needed reset), and it plays and sounds like a million bucks...absolutely incredible (thats twice in two days that I have used that word).
Here are the pic's and there are others in the album on the ning site.
Enjoy:

Before: missing paint and bubble in paint on either side of the neck heel:

After: just look! Awesome!

Finally got to take some good outside pic's and here is one of the best:

If you have guitar that needs repair ot refurbishing, do not hesitate: send it to the Pro's: the group of experts at the Mothership!
You will not regret it!
Peace out!

Nice Mike!!! I can vouch for the job Mother does.
They made my 1112-1 look and play like it just came off the assembly line with the advantage of a 33 year old top opened up!!

It is very near to being brand new...but the sound is the big difference between this guitar and any other Adamas 6 string I have ever played...and thats a lot. This early '78 plays so effortlessly and sounds so sweet that not only can I not put it down, I can't wait until I can play it again...
It's also made me re-think what guitars I have that I can let go of...so I will be thinning the herd over the next several weeks...It's not a fire sale: everything is not on the block. But there will be some very nice offerings...
Between my Elite -6p twins and the Adamas -7 twins and a few other select O's and A's (not counting the other wood bodies I own) I am content. More than content. Time to spread some of the love...
