The hugs I got on October 28, the anniversary of when my blue-eyed carpenter lost his battle with lung cancer; hugs from all over the world are an incredible experience.
Being able to buy my '97C "on layaway," when one of my brothers here let me make payments as I could. (Now if the weather would just co-operate and warm up some, he could ship it.)
The true-hearted way we rejoice with each other when there's something good to celebrate, and cry for each other when life deals us something especially hard.

I have only been scared by a few of you, mostly it's been great!

If I ever get to travel I think of the majority of you as people I could call and share a meal with or ask for help fixing a flat tire.
Very real!

It would be nice to and visit all of my old guitars too!

A friend of mine needs help restoring a Peavey so the other night she registers on the Peavey Forum (which was no small feat). She asked a question and not one member responded! She told me they talked all around her.
I told her of my experiences her where all of you have welcomed me, answered my questions practically before I've finished putting them in.
I've never felt more welcome and at home in any other forum before.
Thanks!

That's terrible, Anita. I know how it feels. I asked a question on "a wood box only" forum (I think most people here can figure out which one it is) and got no answer.

Hey, I'm catching up to you in the post count!

cliff is okay. he's simply on a self imposed 'vacation'. not that there's anything wrong with that. and it sure beats being on an other imposed vacation!

Good to hear. I have really appreciated the support and expertise here on the OFC: thanks to Iffy, BT717, Randy, Woody, Standingm Mike, Vince, Mark, Stephen, Al, Slipkid, Jim, Jas... too many to name! The Ovation Player Legacy also helps give it depth (Glen, JM, Croce).

I'd single out a special guy: Clive-aka-Schroeder. Where is HE lately?

On vacation with Cliff.

Too many to count, so I'll just mention the most recent.
I was in Germany last week and knew I needed a guitar fix. Koenig Kurt couldn't make it, but Karl (Charlie Ramon) met me in Rothenburg on Friday. I gave him our itinerary and he was at the hotel with 2 Adamaii and a music book when we arrived. We played for 3 hours while the rest of the group toured the town. Then we took an hour off for dinner and came back. The hotel moved us to the bar, which really wasn't open and we started again. Our tour group stopped by and most of them joined us. Karl's book kept us busy for at least another 4 hours, with songs from the 60s and 70s, which most everyone in our group knew. I played his #47RI the whole time and he covered up most of my many mistakes, but I never heard him make one, except for the "wision" that was planted in his brain. He taught me a bunch of new chords that I've already forgotten and I tried to teach him how to pronounce a "V". Our group loved it. Karl drove home with a bottle of wine at midnight.
Everyone on the tour couldn't believe that we had never met until Friday and said that Friday may have been the best evening of the trip. Karl may have upstaged our dinner with Wolfgang Porsche earlier in the week. SWMBO now understands why I love this bunch so much. She also learned that she is known as SWMBO and she agrees. Thanks, Karl.

Muzz, I've got a Jim Croce DVD with Maury on it, I'll bring it to the next gathering, when the fingers need a rest.

This is a truly amazing forum.

I have had the opportunity to communicate with, by from and sell to, a number of members here.

The icing on the OFC cake for me is that luckily I have had the opportunity to meet a number of you guys at the NW jam and Amelia, not to mention my Aussie mates.

A message of thanks to all members, because it is people that makes the OFC what it is and gives it the soul it has.

I've got a Jim Croce DVD with Maury on it
TAKFAR, is that the "Have You Heard Jim Croce Live?" DVD? I just bought a copy and was pleasantly surprised at the quality, given the age of the original video material. I thought it was well-edited and the commentary with Jim's wife & son was a nice bonus, too.

Dale, I second that thought about the video. I thought it was well done too. The only thing that I thought was missing was "I Got a Name", but looking at the quality of the vids on youtube, I think I may understand why it was left out.

It is indeed "Have you Heard Jim Croce Live". It was a bargain too, $A10 ($US7).
