A waste of a perfectly good Godin... and WHAT does he need lead sheets for??

I did love the comment, "It's absolutely necessary for a healthy musical culture to have somebody doing this. Thank **** I don't have to listen to it though.".

I think rap may have just moved up a peg.

What is this genre called; Assault with a musical weapon?

This sound reminds me of those youtube vids from a while back, where somebody overdubbed famous artists video with, well, basically this music. Santana Shreds

I think the Slash one and Jake E. Lee/Ozzy are my favorite "shreds" videos.

That same person has overdubbed Clapton as well. Very funny stuff, but the guy can still play. Only the really excellent players can pull off comedic stuff like this.

By the way: Jandek is deadly serious, has a real following and gets many thousands of hits and great gigs. I'm jealous!

I'll buy the deadly part.

...and he appears to have received thousands of hits. Mostly to the head...

My long-time friend, Texas drummer extraordinaire Greg Shreve reports from Houston:
Well, I did a bit of research. Do the wikapedia thing or read the interview on the unofficial Jandek website. A Texas Monthly reporter tracked him down. The story is interesting. He would not admit to being Jandek. He lives in Houston and he just played a small bar here last week with one of the best bass players in Houston! They said the place was packed. The reporter said his house was in a very upscale neighborhood and it appears that he has a white collar day job and at night becomes Jandek! I give him credit for the Led Zep style be-a-mystery tactic and give-no-interviews. What I find really funny is that someone that has zero musical skills can have diehard fans! I watched "Real Wild" several times and I found it to be so damn funny. It really makes me laugh. It's great comedy.... He sells all of his comedy out of his PO box and has no affiliation with a label other than his own called Corewood. Read the Jazz houston thread started on him it's pretty funny.
So bad it's good? Nope sorry.....not good....funny? Yes very very funny? I can't play guitar. I'm tempted to make my own Jandek style video. I'll call myself ZARDOZ and post it on youtube! Zardoz! Remember Zardoz? Great on acid.

I must confess, I couldn't listen to more than 1 1/2 minutes of it. I was trying to be tolerant.

It must be art, cos it sure ain't music. You've heard the Art Of Noise? This is The Noise Of Art.
