I had been looking for this around the house and found it on a bookshelf. It was one of the few LPs I still have. (I stupidly got rid of most of them when I bought my first CD player) What happened to all his hair?

I had at least a hundred LPs I've been carrying from place to place since I was a kid: Kingston Trio, Beatles, Stones, etc.

A couple of years ago I looked at them all and thought,"Why am I carrying all this heavy stuff around? If I want to hear it, I'll get it from iTunes."

Dumped all of it in the trash and didn't look back.

I was a bit of an audiophile when I was younger. My stereo is now packed away in the attic. Though it is more cumbersome to listen to an LP, CDs and Mp3 (M4p or whatever the latest Apple config is) can't hold a candle to vinyl on a good turntable with a stereo IMHO.

I am a big JT fan and I also have a copy of that album. I didn't think anyone else had that one. It is funny how the same song appears on both side one and side two.
God bless,
Steve

In our (my older-brother and I) record collection we had one of these... With the 3D thingie...

My Mom said that she threw it out because the record was scratched!

I told her that I just wanted the cover!

When CD's came out, we lost Album Art.

On or about 1976 I had picked up the Pink Floyd Album "Wish You Were Here" and sent the enclosed post card in to KZOK with my "Three in a row" selection:

Wish You Were Here
Fly Like an Eagle
Stairway to Heaven

It was selected and played...

I really miss the Album Art but especially the liner notes.

I still own every LP I ever bought (about 2200) and listen to them regularly. I've pretty much done away with CDs. For recreational listing I use mp3 on the computer and for dedicated listening its vinyl. Last summer I went through and placed every single LP in new high grade rice paper inner sleeves and new resealable outer covers.

which is all perfectly normal for an audiophile that has excellent taste.

Reminds me of one of my favorite movies "High Fidelity" I think John Cusack sorts his albums biographically.

i like vinyl too, however, i recently invested a small amount of money and bought a DAK (BD-1600) turntable and conversion software. i did this to offer another service to my video transfer business. the investment is already paying off.

shameless plug: if any of you folks would like to get your family/store bought films/slides digitized to DVD, pm or email me. currently, i can clean and transfer 8/Super8 (sound and silent), VHS, VHS-C, 8mm and Hi-8 and 35mm slides. i will offer 16mm service in the near future. i suggest getting any film that is 20 years and older digitized as soon as possible before they deteriorate and become unusable, especially if you live in a moist environment.

I still have nearly 200 Lp. Few years ago I got rid of the albums I didn't like and left what I thought it was the core of my small collection. As many of you I started to put together Lp in my teen but did many mistake selling nice albums to rise money to purchase "new" albums. In doing this I missed many masterpiece. I still also have my old stereo perfetly working that I got back in 1977. Nice one.

I had 350 plus LP's and when I moved to California I left them with my Sister and her Husband (Curently EX and deseased)for "safe Keeping". He "sold" them about a week after I left for Drugs!! I had NO idea he was like that. Every few months I think about those and wish I still had them.
