Just got an update on my Cornerstone handbuilt. He's applying a tru-oil finish on the neck now, so we're about 10 days from done!

Enjoy...

Nice guitar! What does the Hebrew lettering on the rosette say/symbolize?

It's actually the names of my wife and 3 kids. A buddy of mine did the translation for me. He's one of these crazy intellectual types that's fluent in Hebrew and Greek, and working on Latin I think...

Beautiful piece.
But what's with the Cornerstone website? That's the slowest thing in the world. Worth the wait, though, as there are some georgous guitars pictured.

It's actually a kind of tragic story. The guy who designed the website was a customer of the luthier, Peter, who actually was doing missions work in Thailand I believe. He was a techie, and was redoing the website in his spare time. Last year he passed away suddenly, leaving a wife and kids behind. They did a special fund through the AGF for his widow, to help with the funeral and beyond.

At any rate, I'm not sure he was finished tweaking the website before he passed, but you are right, the pictures are phenomenal.

This build I commissioned a year ago last November, so we're at about 18 months now, give or take. It's very exciting to be nearing the end...this baby should be making her debut on Easter Sunday.

I'm already looking at the possibility of another custom down the road. How does a small concert body in sinker redwood & honduran rosewood, short scale, with all madagascar rosewood appointments sound?

LOL, I think I saw that episode! Frasier's always been a favorite, and here in my own backyard... Actually, there was a joke a few years ago, because only locals here in the NW know that the backdrop of Seattle in Frasier's office window was fake...the skyline doesn't actually look like that anywhere here.

As to the lettering, what I don't know can't hurt me, and I don't plan on learning Hebrew...

Andrew, take it from me, Hebrew was one of the most difficult and trying courses I took in my Christian Education: I only needed one year (two semesters) since I had three years of Greek...but your guitar is absolutely beautiful...

I actually need to get a decent recorder. Right now all I have is the little USB mic on my computer. Any suggestions on a good entry (i.e. cheap) one to pick up?
