Thanks, Tim. Jorma was one guitarist (along with Garcia) that I got to see a great deal of live in the early 70s. Hot Tuna, in particular, demonstrated the awesome power of 10 stings to shake the room (Casady + Jorma... sometimes 17 or even [later] 18 strings). And, yet, he always remained rooted in something authentically acoustic and "folk". Ten stars!

PS I was also impressed by another band Casady was in called "Wild Turkey": have not seen anything on the band since a couple of live shows at Winterland and the Filmore 35+ years ago. They were "jammy" and really foregrounded Jack's bass.

nice one.
I was never a huge fan but I appreciate his playing

saw him once in about 87......

got there at 9 he got on at 10 played until midnight at 1 am he came back with a non descript bass player at around 2:30 the bass player pulled the cable out of his amp and walked off the stage.

jorma kept playing.

I fell asleep around 3:30 at 4 30 I woke up and he was still playing

sometime around 5 am he quit I think there were maybe 20 of us left in the audience then.

funny thing he did not address or even look at the crowd he just sat there playing tune after tune after tune.

I was amazed.
