This CC68 I have here has a Tone and Gain slider on the side. Does this thing need a battery? Or is it just passive?

I get no sound from it, but I doubt it will be used plugged in. Just curious.

I once had a CC57, which is a two-knobber. It did not need a battery.
The image of the CC68 on the Ovation website has it with two knobs...
Apparently some models have the sliders instead.
If you look inside the sound-hole, up towards the bass-side and don't see a battery, or a place for one, it doesn't need one.
Otherwise, there would be a battery box on the outside, or a plastic screw-thingie to hold the battery.

Sorry for the delay in answering.
