There's a John Lennon re-issue for sale down here.

The ad says it has Schaller hardware, Ovation specs says Schaller, the pictures on Gallerinski.com shows Schallers, but Koenig Kurt's (on Jerome's site) has Pings. .

I'm confused.

Schaller production is notoriously sporadic, the factory probably just ran out and used the nearest equivalent to hand.

As far as I know, the former Ovation distributor in Germany custom ordered some JL-reissues with LX features (bowl, neck, pings). Kurt's guitar is such a German edition JL. It's the best sounding wood-top Ovation I've ever played.

I would LOVE to compare this guitar with my rebuilt Legend (A braced top, hand laid bowl). It would be as close as we could get to comparing the sound of the A braced top to the scallped X braced top. Both would be deep bowls, both center hole O's. I'd just love it.....

A group of Porsche geeks is going over in April. You can come with us and bring your Legend.

Mine has Schallers.

I can bring the one I have next time I'm in LA and we can do a side by side, Paul. I'm not sure what bracing pattern is on mine, though.

The GC guy is dreaming, along with the Balladeer, but the John Lennon is on the market and in the sights of the great white shark. We'll have to have a post Amelia get together to admire your new acquisitions AJ.

While you are at it, there is also a 1990 Collectors, a 2007 Collectors and a ukulele.

No wonder we don't have all that many OFC members down here, AJ owns all the Ovations except the ones what Muzz, Richard, Watto & I have. How lucky waqs I to get my 07 BCS before the shark circled :D

Snared the John Lennon for a reasonable price.

And here in Brisbane so I can pick it up.

Yes we'll organise a get together when I get back for sure.
