Cool... I'd really like to know. Might be fun to have a "Lost in Space Guitar".

Here's a question. How would a guitar sound in weightless conditions? Gravity HAS to have some effect on vibration, right? Would tone or sustain be affected enough to make it sound different than when played on terra firma?

Vibration is not effected by gravity in a normal sense. Sound waves are compression waves in the air, water, cosmos, metal, or whatever medium they are passing through. Since the sound waves have neither mass or compacted energy of light, they are not affected by gravity. The density of the medium will effect speed with which the sound travels, but density is independent of gravity. Astronauts in outer space use electronics communications to speak to ground control, but within the spacecraft they can speak to each other just as they would on earth.

Dave's "Mr. Science" moment smells more of cut & paste than a pre-school art class.

As Dr. Smith might say... "Oh the irony...the irony"
No wait... that's sarcasim, right??

I've learned that sarcasim and irony is very hard to use online. They'll can get you into trouble almost as fast as religion & politics.

Tisk, tisk, tisk ...

I did cross check online if my statement was true independent of the medium (air, water, etc.)

Although I'm never above a good cut-n-paste when necessary.
