OFC = Old Farts' Club. These guitars aren't meant for us. Ovation/FMIC/KMC is marketing to the demographic they think they can sell to, and no doubt have a helluva lot more research to back that up than we do.

In 30 years I'm sure the buyers of these guitars today will be posting here about the ridiculous models Ovation is putting out in their now, all the while singing the praises of and looking to trade for the "rare and wonderful" Ashba Collector's.

I'm for anything that will increase Ovation's market share to the point that I can walk into a music shop and actually see one! Let's hope it works.

Wow, there's a new direction. Maybe we could get Ozzie to bite off the heads of a few doves and drip "official" blood on the swastika model, which of course would have a nut made from Hitler's exhumed bones.

If I recall, didn't the Cards already run smack into the steelers once this year? Oh, nobody seems to be talking about that one ...

If I may give my opinion...

This is a good marketing ploy. The Elite T's are being made with a lot of quality/cost-cutting features so that they can sell at a lot lower price point. That's more likely to be bought by younger kids than a higher-end O. The paint scheme enables the kids to really identify with the guitar.

And I feel this generation of young people has a genuine need for more images of darkness, death, anger, morbidity and so-on.

Anything Ovation can do to sell any model is just fine with me. In the end it's all about dollars and cents. I'm no longer part of Ovations target market, but that's OK. It's the younger generation with disposable income that will carry the brand into the next decades, not old fuddy duddys like me.

While the particular themes don't excite me, it is a great marketing idea. My daughter gets comments all the time about her red flame T. Kids are really tuned into the appearances and love anything that is a bit anti-establishment.

Yup. I got my first Ovation and age 13 and over the next 4 decades bought about 100 more.

That's the way it works - you gotta get um while they're young.

See ... I can never figure out Ovation's number scheme. I figured it would be a -86.
