ha ha. Those are great. Carlos is the master face-emoter. Although I used to really be into Ten Years After and Alvin Lee could really do some facial calesthenics, too.

There's some great players in there. But the King Of Guitar Faces is undoubtedly Joe Walsh who, in addition to the world's greatest collection of facial tics, has the world's only one-legged full body spasm. Let's give the respect it deserves.

I thought it was a really inventive guitar stand. Shallow bowl only.

Seriously, though. The part of the brain required for motor control when playing guitar must be smack against some facial muscle control center. EVERYONE tends to twitch and grimace, sometimes grotesquely when "workin it"; I notice that the more intense the work (often lead) the more intense the facial distortion. Any neural scientists out there?

dobro - the closest I could find are here and here . The second one looks promising, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to access the online article on my work computer.

Tim - +1!

...sometimes the "guitar faces" happen to those who just listen:

David Crosby and Graham Nash on stage watching David Gilmour's solo during "On An Island" live at the Albert Hall..... On An Island- Albert Hall - David Gilmour
