Location: Austin, Texas | I received a new Ovation a couple of weeks ago and I'm trying to find some info on it. I know it is a CS257 but that's pretty much it. I would like to know wood composition/possible dating/anything related to this guitar would be awesome. I have found things that I think might be right but I would like some confirmation on my findings. I am also having a hard time trying to find out what kind of finish I have. It is a very nice green but has a subtle sunburst that, instead of being black, its blue around the edges.
Any and all info would be much appreciated! I'll try and attach a picture, if I can figure it out...
P.S. It probably wouldn't help seeing as its an offshore Ovation, but the serial # is 9016909

Location: Route 66, just east of the Cadillac Ranch | Hi George. I'm afraid there is not really any organized information about these guitars out on the web. This website has just about all things Ovation and I can only find one brochure on the guitar from 2002 and you'll need to be able to read French. www.ovationtribute.com Sorry I can't be of more help, but welcome to the group!

You can notice the blue hue that I mentioned earlier. I have found a great deal of info on the guitar. All that is left is the year and the type of finish this Ovation has.
