Location: philadelphia		Last year my beloved wife got me a new guitar, an Ibanez hollow-body electric. I love it, just as much as I love the Hello Kitty strat I got for Father's Day six years ago. And for the last month or so my very first guitar, an early 80s VIPER III, sat stringless on its stand awaiting a much needed cleaning and re-stringing.

Well, my friends, baby is back.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains		I had considered parting with mine some months ago, but my photography skills didn't meet the expectations of the potential buyer and the negotiations broke down when I was accused of running a scam. I didn't really want to sell it and was just trying to help the buyer out. Glad I kept it. I do wish that they were lighter in weight. My Viper III (ash blonde) is the heaviest guitar I own, outweighing even a Les Paul Standard by a few ounces.

Location: Boise, Idaho		I still have my first Ovation, a Matix. It's still in good shape and I keep it just for sentimental value, since we got it so I could play it at our wedding in 77. Just got my first Viper a couple months ago. It's a bit of a beater, but sounds great and looks good from a few feet away. A Viper III would be nice. Very versatile.

Location: Texas		TMBC: Viper III's are not all that plentiful. I've never played one, but based on the two-pickup version I own, I suspect that they are pretty spectacular. Gotta love those hot pups! Get that thing cleaned up and PLAY IT! (And then post photos.)

ProfessorBB: Heavy or not, you would have regretted selling your VIII, so you're better off, imo. (Score one for poor photo skills?)

First Ovations? I still own the Custom Balladeer I bought new in 1979. Logically, I should sell it, since I have others that I play much more often, but it's got a lot of sentimental value, and it's still in great shape and sounds mighty nice…

…but wait, this is the ELECTRIC guitar section…

I got my very first guitar in the 60's, and it was an electric. I still have it (and the amp I played it through.) I'll take a photo and post it one of these days. I seriously doubt anyone else here has a guitar quite like it…

Location: philadelphia		Well, I probably could have gotten it cleaner but I really just wanted to get the strings on it and play.

I used D'Addario ESL (extra-super-ligths) as an experiment, since I have heavy strings on my hollow-body and medium strings on my strat. Not sure what they sound like through the amp yet, hope to find out this weekend, but they sure feel nice.

Location: puerto vallarta, mexico		my first electric was an airline triple pickup guitar with 6 knobs in a straight line above the pickups and one mv. purchased new in 1960 from wards with caddy money. very jetsons looking. also a sears silvertone tube amp that was 12 watts with a 12" alnico speaker. 2x 6V6 output. they are a great harp amp or for recording, but not even a small gig amp by modern standards unless through the p.a.. pressed cardboard with the knobs up and down one side. went well with the jetson's guitar.

actually i was working on a univox custom f hole 12 string today. no sn i can find so far but looks like an early 60's style to me. should be a fun project.

how was the teisco miles?
