I also had them on my Beater 1612 back when I was afraid the the headstock might snap-off. But the True answer to the Question is... I had Martin Silk-n-Steel M1400 (.0115-.047) on my Orange Flamer for awhile. They are really easy on the fingers and the pickup, a wide one with an OP-Pro, worked fine. Of course you lose a bit of acoustic volume with those strings, but amplified worked just fine. I would guess that they work fine with finger-picking but it doesn't take long to kill a set with a pick, which is why I changed them. (Now I am looking at a new-in-box set that I have trying to decide which guitar to put them on) Oh! I also had a set on my Folklore 1114-beater and they worked well for finger-style.

I play mostly finger style and like a more subtle and expressive sound. These sound similar to classic guitar or round wound bass strings - much character to the sound. Started off with the Martin - then the TI - then the John Pearse. They are all good but I like the TIs (prefer Plectrum over Spectrum) the best due in part to the slightly heavier gauges available. If you are a heavy strummer looking for the loudest and brightest sound, and you like the sharp attack of Elixirs, these are not for you. These strings are all lower tension so they play easier and stress the instrument less. I really like the Pearse on the 1117.

Then today I put another set on my 6778LX. They play really delicately. As to the pickup and playing through an amp... Well, they sound different. I did have to adjust my settings and it sounds different, but not in a bad way. This will be good for fingerstyle for a while. I will have to adjust my picking style when I use a pick. A gentle touch still sounds loud through an amp.
