Can anyone tell me what are the recommended strings for an Elite 1537? Thanks.

This question gets asked regularly. Take some time and search the archives, but it's pretty much going to come down to what slothead said. I'm using EJ16's.

Congrats on your purchase! When can we expect to see photos?

On my 1537 and 87C, phospher bronze strings don't have enough ring. I use 80/20's on both, medium gauge. Whatever brand you like.

Everybody here has different opinions. Try different strings and go with what sounds right to your ear. For your guitar, it's the only one that counts......

I liked Lawrence Juber 12's best on mine. Signature Bronze is in between PB and 80/20s. GHS makes them. It's the tone that matters to me, and that applies in this case to both sound and color. Being a slave to fashion and all that.

Don't try to emulate Bongo. You can get the strings and you can get the glasses, but you'll never be as cool....

That's strings for a 1537, Bobbo!

Across the board my favorites have been Martin Marquis SP Phos Bnz. But they apparently are discontinued now. Recently we've been putting Adamas 1818 phos bnz lights on our O's and A's and so far they are even better than the Marquis. Each guitar is unique but on the O's and A's I have been happy with phos bnz lights from many brands. Dean Markley have been pretty good for us.

Ones I have not liked are Blue Steel and many of the DR strings.

At least Mediums and Elixers will last.

I have tried almost all the acoustic strings I can get my hands on in the last few years and have recently come back to Adamas 1818 Phos/brnze. I just got a 1769 custom legend and the guitar sounds great with these strings.
