Joined: March 2002 Posts: 15654 Location: SoCal | On my 1537 and 87C, phospher bronze strings don't have enough ring. I use 80/20's on both, medium gauge. Whatever brand you like. Everybody here has different opinions. Try different strings and go with what sounds right to your ear. For your guitar, it's the only one that counts...... Joined: August 2002 Posts: 8307 Location: Tennessee | I liked Lawrence Juber 12's best on mine. Signature Bronze is in between PB and 80/20s. GHS makes them. It's the tone that matters to me, and that applies in this case to both sound and color. Being a slave to fashion and all that. | ||

Joined: October 2005 Posts: 4028 Location: Utah | Across the board my favorites have been Martin Marquis SP Phos Bnz. But they apparently are discontinued now. Recently we've been putting Adamas 1818 phos bnz lights on our O's and A's and so far they are even better than the Marquis. Each guitar is unique but on the O's and A's I have been happy with phos bnz lights from many brands. Dean Markley have been pretty good for us. Ones I have not liked are Blue Steel and many of the DR strings. | ||
