Here is a hard-to-find 1999 model with big sound The Taylor 415 Jumbo is a six-string jumbo acoustic guitar that's a member of Taylor's 400 Series. The jumbo body style is intended to create a jumbo sound, and Taylor has put a new spin on the concept with the use of both traditional and non-traditional woods. The result is a big sound, but with a little bit of the edge that might come with a Gibson or a Martin taken off. The Taylor 415 Jumbo has back and sides made of Ovangkol, with a Sitka Spruce top The neck is Mahogany and the fretboard is made of Ebony, with large pearl dot inlays. The binding is white fiber, and the finish is satin back and sides and lustrous gloss top that was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes. It comes equipped with chrome plated Grover tuners. Taylor builds one of the most solid guitars in the business, and the Taylor 415 Jumbo is no exception. The workmanship is meticulous, the clean, white binding is applied to the neck and body in a way that is so perfect that it's seamless, and to me that's one way of telling if an instrument is well-constructed and that care was taken in the building of this guitar. The Taylor 415 Jumbo has a big but not overpowering sound. The Ovangkol back and side give this guitar a warm, deep sound that is nicely balanced by the brilliance of the Sitka spruce top. This combination creates a good blend of the highs and lows, with a little bias in favor of the lows. The Taylor Guitar Company has learned the jumbo design well, and the Taylor 415 Jumbo is a good way to own a jumbo acoustic guitar without paying a jumbo price. This is a PLAYER's guitar that has a mature tone well past its 14 years! This guitar retailed for around $1,895.00, and I think it's an incredible bargain at that price. I am asking $995 plus shipping.

Without any formatting that is really hard to read.

It seems like you did a cut and paste from the Tayor website.

I would rather hear what you think about the guitar than Taylor marketing spoo.

But it's a F*****g Taylor.

Not that I am prejudiced... But if I buy a wood-box... NO!

(Yes, I do own a wood-box... just one)

I once owned a Taylor....the Doyle Dykes Signature.....hated how it sounded unplugged but it was an early version with the RMC system (instead of the later expression) and it sounded incredible plugged in. It also had one of the best necks I have ever played on an acoustic. I eventually got rid of it cause 90% of my acoustic playing is acoustic and not plugged in so it was being underutilized.....and I had a ready and willing buyer that offered me top dollar.

I agree that it's really hard on the eyes trying to read Taylor's description.
Maybe a few words to sum up your playing experience with it along with its attributes would be in order?

I also have had no luck in posting pictures on this forum. Good luck with that.

I personally haven't played a Taylor that I've liked yet... but I'm sure they must have some good sounding and playing instruments. When I was looking for a "crossover" nylon string I tried a couple of Taylors up to the $3000 price range, and while they sounded great plugged in they really lacked on the straight acoustic sound.

I've heard that about several of their models from different players. Oh well it's just an opinion... and you know what they say - like a##hole# - everybody's got one! LOL
