Hi, New member here. This seems like a great place for information!!My name is Sean and I have been playing guitar for almost two years. (When I turned 50 I thought I might as well just do some research and buy a guitar or else I will be saying the same thing twenty years from now!)

So...I bought an Ibanez Artcore Hollow Body electric. Love it.
Anyway a few weeks ago my wife expressed interest in playing so we picked up a used EA-68 Viper. The thing is beautiful but has some issues.

It made no sound(plugged in..[we got a good deal on it] :) ). So I rolled up some sandpaper and worked it in and out of the input jack for a while. It is better but doesn't pickup the low E string.

I haven't been able to find Ovation parts at the local stores like GC or Daddy's. I am going to be addressing the other issues soon like very high action at the bridge and WAY too low action at the nut .

Big Question...Where do you folks get your parts for these older guitars?

Thanks...Sean

Cool Sean!

That is exactly what I did.
For my 49th Birthday I bought a Lyon Pseudo-Strat.
(still got it, just don't use it)
Bought a Korean Balladeer before my 50th birthday.
Like it sez on my profile page, my interests are: "Learning to Play Guitar before I am too Old!"

Someone who can answer your Real Question will be along soon.

Have you put a fresh battery in it?

Thanks all!!! Yes, I put a fresh battery in it...and it worked somewhat. (it made no sound at all when I first got it).

I have called Kaman and they have been pretty helpful. (It depends on who answers the phone)

Anyway...thanks again to everybody and I guess I will keep "playing around" with it!...Sean
