Always liked Ovation. Seemed when I was growing up, there was always an Ovation in the corner of the living room of whatever friends' house I was visiting. I have a very nice US Strat that I love (natural), but kept wanting an Ovation on hand for some reason. Well, hope I'm not jinxing this (I can easily see the folks at FedEx Ground destroying a guitar), but I should have a very, very, very nice 1767 in my grubby little mits next week. Was even considering an Ovation for the kids, but just snagged (while typing this) a Seagull S6 Slim for them to fight over. Anyway, there it is. Howdy!

Hi Deminimis, Did you post (or try to post) more than the two posts we see?

Just the two (now three), but all I see is blank pages. Perhaps it a new-guy thing. Me wants to post too. Thanks.

I guess I'm not understanding as you are responding, so you are seeing something.. By the way, I deleted the double-post so this post will be #5 of this thread.

Well I found a bug in the software and I'm working on fixing it, but you should see all your posts now.

My '85/'86 1767 arrived today. Shipped across the country, yet arrived in tune. Can't hardly believe the extraordinary condition this bad boy is in. Even the case is n great shape. Feeling rather lucky.

Why thank you. It's actually my first, 100% mine, acoustic (not counting the little Stella my dad gave me when home b/t tours (not concert tours, tours in Vietnam)). Whole different world, but I'll enjoy broadening my horizons. USA!

Now this was totally unexpected. Running this Ovation through my Fender tube amp (Blues Jr) makes this guitar almost as dirty as my '93 US Strat. I'm half tempted to tune this bad boy to open G and get my Stones on. I had no idea. Excellent.

Nice low action. Only thing I need is to get a new nut cut (low e too close to edge and things are a bit tight at the first fret, so need to spread the wealth a bit too).

I must sleepwalk and during my wanderings, I must have placed my fingertips on a hot stove. Only explanation I can come up with for this feeling in my left hand fingertips. Couldn't be those full step bends, right?

Lovin' the Legend.
