I am new here and I recently bought a cs257. My question is why are some of the celebrity series called deluxe and some not? I am trying to figure out what year mine is. It has a blue sticker on the inside and it says "celebrity deluxe" while other celebrities do not say deluxe. Any help with the year would be great.
Thanks

I am not Totally positive...

But I think that Celebrity Deluxe means that it has Multiple sound-holes (epaulets).

Plain ol' Celebrity's have center sound-holes.

But I could be wrong...
Could just be that adding "Deluxe" is a marketing gimmick with no real meaning.

Deluxe usually meant upgraded features, such as fretboard binding, dot/diamonds inlays, and sometimes figured tops.

As far as a year, what is the model number? That will help narrow it down a little, but generaqlly you'll never get closer than a range of yers. It's not like the US models where they had a numbering sequence that you could map back to when it was made.

And totally NOT a dumb questions. Welcome to the OFC. What kind of tunes do you play?

I have seen the cs257 with the multi-holes with 2 different stickers. Ovation Celebrity and Ovation Celebrity Deluxe.I have not found anyone that can answer this one. I play a little of everything but mainly country/rock. I will post up a serial number when I get home.

So, I guess nobody on here knows this question. If I could post it on general post, maybe more people could see it.
Thanks

I'm with OMA. Every Celebrity Deluxe I've seen, including the 2 I've owned, have been the multi-hole models and Celebrities were centerhole. Ovation may have changed that recently, but that's how it was for years.

So, If the sticker does not say "deluxe", it still can be? Correct? Just trying to clear this up.

Sorry, I'm doing these posts from work and keep forgetting to do the serial number when I get home. I'll try to remember tomorrow.
