These guitars (not this guitar) show up from time to time on ebay, especially on the german bay. They also have been discussed before on the board. I even think that one of our members has one of them.

I don't remember, if they were a GC model, for overseas production or something else. The only thing that separates this one from the others I have seen is the split saddle. All of them had this kind of headstock logo.

This is one of the others

Not to say they aren't nice...
In fact, they are kinda nice. Only funny thing about this one is the description. LX neck? Elites with round soundholes? Leaf pattern that showed up later on the Custom Elites only?

Well, okay...

And:
There is an absence of the Ovation name on the head stock; instead there is an "open O" in the logo which is actually a C for their "Custom Shop"

It's the same open 'O' as the ones in all the inlaid Ovation logos..

That's a very good observation. I never noticed that before.

If I remember correctly this was one of a batch made for Sam Ash stores. Personally I like the headstock logo and the epaulets

I was wondering if it was a Sam Ash model. Looks similar to one I'd seen before.

I got a laugh too about the description. But, it has to be true...he got it from the world's living expert on guitars! :D

That's probably the same MOP headstock logo that comes up on ebay every once in awhile. The "C" keeps it as one piece.
