After I drag & drop I'm not allowed to burn due to rights issues. I'll try Nero when I get home tonight.

There are tons of third party burners out there, but many of them are reporting problems with Vista (including Nero7). M$ really went over the top with rights protection, considering it isn't any of their business. Here's a few: CDBurnerXP (says it works with Vista, but users report problems) Ultimate CD/DVD Burner BurnAware Brad, just make sure you do your research before you install. Most 'free' software comes with some unpleasant surprises from mild, (like toolbars you don't want and can't uninstall) to intolerable (spyware and worse, malware, keyloggers, ect.) Check download.com , they've done reviews on many, and will alert you to the bogus ones. EDIT: Ok, you've got XP, good news. Forget Media Player, there's been burning issues with that for years. My advice above still applies. Unless you've already got Nero, you don't have to spend the money, there's plenty of free ones that work fine, and don't come with unwanted guests.

I still got media player that came with my XP... The basic blue one, without alot of album covers. I accepted the upgrade(s) once, and had alot of problems. So I uninstalled, and went back to the original issue, no problem.

The problems I was talking about with WMP mostly have to do with burning, but the package itself has become way too interested in what I watch or listen to. Personally, I never use WMP. I use a freeware player called Media Player Classic. If you download it as part of the K-lite codec pack you get codecs for just about any audio or video file you're likely to run into (WMA, WMV, MP3, WAV, MPEG, AVI and more). Plays realmedia as well, a plus as I despise the realmedia player (it's incredibly invasive). If you don't mind paying a small price ($20) WinAmp is a good way to go (you can burn with the free version, but it's limited to 2x burning speed). I like that they're constantly issuing updates, not to sucker in new users, but to protect users against new security threats. Again, there are many free burners out there, just do some research or you may wind up with problems you never even imagined. EDIT: (Note to you Mac freaks - WinAmp just released news of their remote access for the iPhone - access music and video from home remotely Orb-powered Winamp Remote app ).
