I've always been partial to my 1117 (acoustic-only) Legend. It has that "dark, transparent" sound I fell in love with nearly 40 years ago listening to the solo half of "My Goal's Beyond" (John McLaughlin). I've never been able to sort out other variables to focus on the question here. I will only pass on John Budny's opinion (that accords with what is being said here): installation of standard Ovation electronics will have a marginal effect on the overall acoustic sound. I went ahead and had a much less cumbersome system put in (Fishman Matrix). I see no difference in sound post-installation.

If you mean the Fishman, yes, it should work in any non-electric Ovation or Adamas. Very nice pickup system and controls.
