Location: Summerville SC | My grandfather left me this when he died. I grew up playing it and is my most prized material possession! I wouldn't take a million dollars for it! I would just like to know more about it. Some say they are pretty common and I have managed to find one or two in the internet for sale but I can't find out how many got produced.

| I have no idea how many were produced, but they were introduced in 1978, which is the one that I have. Certainly one of the best sounding Ovations that I have owned. Mine is the Antique Brown version. They seem to be more common than the natural finished ones. Very nice guitars.

Location: Indiana | I've had my 82 1657-7(electric) for 25 years, now.I am the original owner. Need I say more. Oh, ok, I will. You have a great guitar, IMO. It is still one of my faves. And I have more than a few. Have never even concidered selling it. Since acoustics are known to sound better than acoustic/elec, I can only imagine the sound your's must have. Treasure it.

Location: 6 String Ranch | They were produced for a few years and while it's not rare it's not plentiful either. A nice guitar. One of the first ones with A braces if I recall correctly. |

Location: Summerville SC | Thank you guys so much for your input! Mine had two cracks in the top back behind the bridge. I took it to a luthier that I know here that worked in the the Gibson custom shop for 20 some odd years. He rebuilds 1940's D-45's weekly! Anyway I would only take this gem to the best! Well, mine has two pearl dots on the bridge and under these dots were bolts! Are these dots/bolts original? My guy doesn't think the bolts are original and are what caused the cracks in the first place.
At any rate he is going to fix it and do a setup for me for $150. Not bad considering. It still plays/sound like a dream. I just wanted to get it back to par, structurally.

| Yes, that's what holds the bridge to the top. I've never had one crack because of them, though. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | My Custom Balladeer has a couple cracks coming out from under the bridge and they look like they start at the bolt holes. |
