Location: Denmark | Hi, all. are there any rumors regarding future availability of Ovation guitars or is the brand ceasing to exist? What I see here is that at e.g. Thomann the range of guitars offered quickly seems to shrink to a few B-stock offerings (guitars which have been returned by customers) of which there are quite a few. Are they rearranging the whole distribution neetwork or have Ovation been completely taken out of business including the "overseas" models?

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Y'all understand that for "TPA" in Denmark... The USA Ovations are "import" models too.
TPA, as far as I can tell there will be No More USA Ovations coming from Connecticut.
There will also be no "MotherShip" for repairs.
There will still be whatever service that is used for the 5-Year warranty for Asian O's...
But I think that solution is to just throw the guitar away and send you another one.
Understand that FMIC has no loyalty to anything but the almighty Dollar.
Just like Strats and Teles, everything is made in the cheapest country available.
China, Korea, Indonesia... Vietnam, India, Cambodia, who knows whats next.
If the US economy keep going the way it has, We might be making Fenders here again.
I don't know what Thomann is doing...
But my local Ovation dealer stopped selling any Ovations when Fender bought Kaman.
So "USED" is the way to go.

Location: NW Indiana | I sent Fender an email last week and asked them....#1) Will the Adamas and/or any higher end Ovations be made in their overseas factories, #2) Is there any interest from an American guitar builder to buy the Adams line and build them again in the US, and #3) Do they have any plans in publishing an up-to-date news release and let the Ovation community know what is going on. I received a polite reply saying there are no plans for any Ovation to be built in the US, and if/when that would change they certainly would put out a news release. I was also told that "there are many American-made Ovations currently available around the world and all I needed to do was visit the Fender website and they would direct me to those dealers." Sorry guys, We Are Screwed. |

I agree our only hope is if they sold off the Adamas brand (and the technology rights) and someone bought it soon (before all the former NH employees become committed to other employment). The more time passes, the less likely this becomes. |
