I apologize for the bother as I'm sure some of you are sick of me. However, searching through some of the archives and putting 2 & 2 together, I THINK (99.9%) I've found the 1885-5 I'm looking for that everyone has helped me with. HOWEVER, I think I have a couple issues.

#1- I think it was sold and is no longer in St. Louis- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7402475999&index...

#2- Can anyone tell by the below pic has this HexFX thing on it? (and is this a pretty rare option and is this something that could have been added?)

#3- By ANY chance, does anyone know chuckandmargaret who was the winning bidder in this.

#4- I'm pretty sure the Dave Patrick that had the serial number listed in the gallery as #972 is the person who I'm looking for for #792

#5- Could #792 be a serial number if it's a custom?

#6- Is there anyway to get the pictures from where they show the "x" and are no longer showing on Ebay?

#7- I'd like to thank everyone here as everyone has been incredible in trying to help!

Maybe try to contact the seller. He could (at his discretion) give you some information.

The guitar in the photo is a cutaway - not a full body.

All 1885's were cutaways.

I have and certainly keeping my fingers crossed. I also contacted the buyer but doesn't look like that person has been active on ebay since May, 2006 which worries me a bit

I seem to have forgotten. Why are you desperate to find info on this guitar?

I seem to recall it was three guitars but I left the computer for a while and lost interest in the outcome.

I only asked for informational purposes. No judgments. I too have been jonsing for a particular model of guitar, just not a particular guitar per se.

My uncle passed away and was one of my best friends. So, I'm trying to track down some of his old guitars.
I actually have 5 guitars now with 4 with serial numbers and the one I don't have the SN on is this adamas.

I do apologize if it's a bother to you. I try to give back to the site by posting guitars I think people would be interested in. I hope you understand. Thanks!

It doesn't seem to be a problem. It's not like any of us aren't obsessive about Ovations.

I've now contacted almost all the people who he bought from on ebay just to see if they would be kind enough to go through their paypal records to see if they could find the address it went to. Here's hoping. Kindof hard to find a Chuck and Margaret in Nebraska without a last name.
