Hi all. Will there be an east coast gathering this May?

We're all hoping, Jane, but it's probably a little early to hear.

Stay tuned and keep the fingers crossed...

It may be that with all the changeover and switching to the Fender way of doing thing is might be purdent to skip a year. Just a thought.

May be true, but everything I've seen concerning the tour says that it is "Annual"....am I wrong?

It became "Annual" when Al worked hard to put 'em together year after year, and when the folks at Kaman Music agreed. It was never something that "Corporate" did as a marketing or goodwill gesture. I agree with Beal, it may be good to take a year off ( :( ) and let everything settle down with the new ownership.

It's nice to see the confidence level, but it's not up to any of us. As with every other year. We can sit and speculate, or just wait until they tell us.

I'm sure they are more concerned to know if there will be a Factory in CT, or if anyone will be working there before we start hounding them about visiting.

I sure hope Alpep doesn't see this thread...

I thought this was part of the hazing ritual for Al every year. It might be the only year I can make it. I had some other conflict the last two years. Three years ago was a college graduation. Next year will be another college graduation about the usual week in May.

It's a hazing ritual for new members. "Hey so-and-so, why don't you go ask Al if there will be a gathering this yeah? he he he".

Like I was saying to Jim and TR on the way back from FL, whether we have it or not, it's great to know that the way it's rolling right now, we'll always have something on the horizon in the southeast. We just have too much fun getting together to stop.

Not having the tour would be a bit of a bummer since, like Mark, this may be "my year" to make it. And I held off on Amelia since I had to choose one. But I appreciate all the hard work by some, that I'm reaping rewards from, in the form of some pretty cool buddies.

Either way, I've got OFC family, so I'm a winner.

Maybe we should start a new members' initiation kit.
1. Ask what kind of strings go with my Ovation.
2. Buy sets of string tubes of various sizes.
3. Ask Al about the next factory tour.
4. Ask how to post pictures.

Any others?

I noticed that Miles listed alpacas as one of the attractions for the next NW gathering. I wonder if he couldn't find any llamas.
