The guitars ship from the factory with either Adamas 1818 or D'Addario EXP16. Both of those have a "brassy" sound that some folks don't like. The DR's are really good, Elixir's sound somewhat dead when you first put them on but sound better after a bit of playing. D'Addario EJ26 are a little lighter for easier playing, won't have quite the volume of a heavier set, but make up for it with less brassiness and squeak. Bottom line: try out several flavors until you find the ones you like. And don't fall for anyone trying to sell you on string tubes ;) .

We want pictures! Al will give you a "vacation" if you get a guitar and don't post pics (or at least he should).g8r, if it sounds half as good as it looks, you're in for a long wait. definitely needs new string tubes.
