Maybe selling to Fender isn't that bad.

Pretty cool. Gibson is no longer an American company. That'll get their shorts in a twist.

I'm guessing too, but the dollar is so low, the euro's probably were doing some bargain hunting. Before it's over they'll be buying more stuff.

Really wish I kept that Double Neck Rickenbacker!
it is going to go sky high in value once they become the last great All American Guitar Company left.

...so, the "USA" has become the 21st-century "China" to Denmark?

I don't think it bodes well for anyone on either side of the Atlantic - with such unscrupulous and avaricious men as Henry Juszkiewicz and Anders Fauerskov at the helm. (I feel sorry for the people at Gibson and TC.)

Based on the limited information, it seems Gibson has the upper hand in this merger, especially with ol' Henry staying on as the CEO. And unlike Fender-Ovation deal, the two companies seem complementary. Made in USA should be alive and going strong as is the greed.

I think that it`s more a " Multinational Conglomerate " thing , rather than a " Nationalistic " thing.

It scares me that a few " moguls " own so much...I dunno..

Would you believe me if I said there are a lot worse moguls owning a lot more? And consider this, the young geniuses who started Google, a search engine, is today worth more than General Electric that owns consumer financing, various manufacturing industries all over the world, real estate, etc. Or a young kid who started Facebook which is now worth $15 billion...Gibson and TC in that perspective is peanuts. :(

They're all just guys showing up for work.

They just happen to be generals in the war of private enterprise.

Be thankful. We could still be battling with real weapons otherwise....!

I have to agree on the pissing contest. Hard to believe Hank will want to be second fiddle.
