Joined: June 2007 Posts: 58 Location: Montreal | Hi Everyone: This question will seem like a no-brainer for experts, but here goes... I'm on the verge of purchasing an Adamas W597. My question is, with the carbon fibre top, what, if any issues are there with humidity, temp and durability, in general. Your general observations on the model would also be appreciated. Thanks again, Jeff

They can withstand temperature swings and humidity changes much better than wood boxes. You'll likely have more problems with your strings than the guitar. Keep the fretboard and tuners in good repair (oiled and clean) and you should have no problems.

Don't put it in the convection oven... remember, they do have glued wooden braces, so, though much, much, much less susceptible to humidity induced maleffects, extremes in heat and cold should be avoided.

Of course, he closed by saying that we should contact him with any questions. I refrained from asking what the hell an L drive is.

People in Hong Kong, Singapore and Jaimaca love them for their superior humidity resistance. Sure you'll want to care for your Adamas baby, and provider her with a hygrometer and humidifier, but the Adamii have far better humidity resistance than just about any guitar out there. Period. Do not worry on this count bro'. Buy it. Do it. Be happy. Oh yeah, bienvenue au club ovation!

This is remarkably more efficient for some reason :D We just got an email from our IT guy ... Apologies for being off topic. Where I live the humidity is high, but I have no humidity related problems with my guitar, but when not playing it I store it in the case, so whatever climate variations it sees are slow variations. Also - and naturally - I avoid the risk of direct condensation. Not a specialist, but I think that low humidity would be a bigger problem than high humidity.
