Maybe $500-$600 if it's otherwise clean? It's hard to gauge the condition of the one in Denver from the Craigslist photos. Funny, there's a guy looking for a Deacon or Preacher on the Salt Lake City Craigslist. What a coincidence! -Steve W.

But then I thought, that wouldn't be neighborly to ship the case all by itself, I think that maybe I would have to accompany it and make sure that it got there safe! Of course I might have to bring my scuba gear just in case I needed to cool off...

There was a Deacon on eBay a couple of months ago that had a Strat pickup stuck in the (nonexistent) middle position and a couple of big ugly toggle switches added. It was bid up to about $1,000 and didn't meet reserve. I'm so cheap I'd only spend the $250 Stephent28 suggests. You might recoup some by selling the replacement pickups and pickguard. -Steve W.

When we served it in the turboprop I spent a lot of nights there, but now that we do it in the jet I haven't done more than pass through. I'll look into it. It would be fun to spend some time playing your nice collection. Since my daughter's birthday isn't until July, I'm thinking that the Preacher will have to remain sequestered in my bedroom for the next six months. I'm sure it could make a trip to Boise with me in order to get a thorough "functional check" before handing it over to her.
