Joined: February 2004 Posts: 1634 Location: Warren,Pa. | A couple of things at work here: The "T" being the low end Ovation that it is (not to demean it at all), the 2-pc Maple neck is less expensive to make than the 5-pc. ...and, Maple is, at this time, a plentiful and "less ecologically sensitive" wood than Mahogany. They say the 2-pc neck is just as stable as the 5-pc. I believe it, but I still think the 5-pc is cool. John <>{ | ||

By far the best inexpensive new guitar made in the US that Ovation has in the stable and probably would hold that title compared to ANY US manufacturer. I just love the feel and contour of that sweet maple neck. Mine plays as well as any my other O's. Now, if they would just migrate them to the contour bowl... | ||

If I were ever thinking on looking for a "beater," that's what I'd get (in s/s bowl)--but I'd get mine in a slightly more subdued color. (Turquoise, anyone??) ;) --Karen | ||
