For those of you who remember that music can actually sound like music instead of compressed, thin, tiny frequency digital crap, here is a wonderful site that I get much use from. this place right here There are many great articles from experts that may help explain why there's a never ending struggle to make digital effects and the like sound natural.

Recently built a vacuum tube amp (DIY set from Sun Audio Japan) because solid state amp did not create an emotive ambience. Slowly moving more and more to tube system

Don't have turntable (Dual) here, left mine with my mother in Sweden with all the LPs. Still using CD player (Ah Tjoeb) but looking for turntable. Do you recommend any?

Player ( a 5 kilo cast iron platter with an Aliminum platter on top that can be lifted without stopping the cast-iron ), for your purpose , I would recommend the REGA " PLANAR 3 " , with it`s own ToneArm , build in Scotland , with a P.U that can cope with 0,5 - 1 gram stylus pressure , a LENCO L 75 ( 4 kilo platter ) would be Good ( Swiss made ) , with P.U which has 1,5 - 2 gr. stylus pressure , but since U mention Sweden , why , try to get hold of a BEOGRAM 4004 (Danish ) or Similar , with Tangential ToneArm , and B&o P.U , I do n`t know that specific Amp. of yours , but it should be very musical sounding , since Your amp. seems to be a Single-Ended Amp. , theoretically ( and in real life ) the best Power-Amp. design , specially so , when running in class A mode ( High Bias ) , ..congrats !!...connect a few horn speakers and You `ll be able to " fill the room with Music " , even a large room , since that You are in Japan , it should be easy for You to obtain a couple of FOSTEX FE 108 drivers , and build a pair of these ,.. http://diyaudioprojects.com/Drivers/FE108/FE108S_horn.htm ..Your SE valve amps. will drive them nicely , and your neighbors will enjoy them too.. :) Vic

With the favorable exchange rate, high end audio such as Accuphase is almost half of what it costs in the U.S. Here is the link to Sun Audio. It has been rated by Stereophile. http://www2.big.or.jp/~sunaudio/

( No feed-back !! ) ahh..the sweet sound of a clean sinus-wave , un-interupted by x-over distortion , only a Single - Ended can deliver that , soft headroom by means of a valve - rectifier , You `re doing Good , Congrats !! What Control / Pre-amp. have U got ? if the pre-amp. is equipped with valves , then U may want to look at a High-Output P.U , such as the DENON DL 103 ( I think )...for speaker cable OFC Copper offcourse.. :) Vic

I run mostly legacy stuff. my "bedroom system" is a complete bang and oulfsen beomaster, turntable, cassette, tuner and integrated into bose 901's I used to run a tandberg but traded that for the B & O my main system is a little more complex HK 1000 linear tracking turn table bic beam box (antennea for the tuner) furnman power conditioner tascam 301 cassette mk II tascam 301 cd player paragaon tube preamp (made in California in the late seventies very rare and highly sought after) HK citation II tube amp Mcintosh mr 67 tube tuner 4 bose 901's with preamp/crossover crown vfx2a crossover bsr bass commmode gutter for a 15" jbl for lows powered by a crown d150a I am awaiting the arrival of a Lavry DA 10 this is a digital to analog convertor. Everything I have read is positive and this should give a more live feel to the sound. I will report on it when it comes in and I find the time to hook it up. edited to add that the with any turntable but especially linear tracking and the HK you need to have it perfectly level. what a difference it makes!!!!!!!!

Joined: April 2006 Posts: 2491 Location: Copenhagen Denmark | Al , ..now that Is an Impressive list , 901`s , so U `re in the Direct/Reflecting game eh , please say that the single speaker points towards U , too often have I seen/heard the opposite , with their owners saying , .." Yeah , I like `em but they sound a little huge " ...mygawd , they`re not 802`s , and U`ve got a Citation II , ( talk about a Humdinger X-tra Ordinaire ) , stuff that dreams are made out of , the very first High Current Amp. ever , and they still make `em according to Matti Ottala`s recipe , but what caught my attention was the word " PARAGON " ..( did U mean Paradigm ? ).. , JBL`s famed Stereo-box , I assume U know what I`m talkin` about , anyways , feast for the eyes and ears... http://www.vintage-audio.com.ua/en/cat/152/363.html ..and Congrats with that swish " reeking of quality " convertor.. :) Vic
