Welcome Keith! We had a jam last June at French Broad River Park in Asheville, and it was such a hit that we should try another. MusicMishka may put one together for VA, which would be in range for you. You never know what may pop up. We have one in two weeks in Florida.

The big event, which may or may not happen, is the annual Factory Tour and jam, usually in May. Stay tuned for news, if any, on this event, in CT.

Keith, it will be in Gainesville. Look for the "Interest in another FL/SE OFC Jam?" thread in the general posting section. I have bookmarked your MYspace and will try to catch your band sometime.

We will try to have another Southern Jam this year, either in Asheville again or possibly in Simpsonville, SC (1 1/2 hours from Asheville)or in Virginia.

Welcome and stick around!

When were you thinking Asheville? Our schedules may collide, and that's a good thing.

Haven't been to Asheville in quite a few years, beautiful area from what I remember. We'd give it serious thought for a gathering there, would make a nice getaway.

Keith, I missed your first post, so I'll say "Welcome to the Board!" here. Let me know if you're serious about coming down for the jam and I'll send you directions.

Hmm it would be nice and work schedule allowing I'd be up for this trip.

With Bethany going off to college this fall, Mrs M and I are looking to relocate away from the chilly Delaware Valley. Currently we have a realtor working on property in the Lake Norman (Charlotte, NC) area and I am loving finding out all about the many benefits of this area.

The strong Scottish/celtic heritage in the area is very appealing. I have to be within 1 hour drive of a major hub airport or else we'd be looking up towards the mountains and Asheville which would be a great place to live.

Will track with interest developments.

Keith, we might mention that our "conventions" often consists or 3 - 10 members, but the factory tour draws a much bigger crowd. One great thing about the jams is the opportunity to play the different guitars from each other's collections. And the people are cool too.

Stuart, I am from Charlotte originally (have a brother there, that is a realtor, if you need additional help). Lake Norman area is beautiful!

Like Lanaki, I am of Scottish heritage also, clan McArthur. Never could find a kilt that I looked good in though.

Hey Keith - the gathering I'm hosting is in 2 weeks. There is a 'gathering' of sorts at the end of March where about 20 of us are attending a weekend workshop at Amelia Island (just north of Jacksonville) organized by Beal and taught by Matt Smith. The original thread is here . All the spaces are filled (but check with Beal anyway if you're interested), but once we're done with the instructional part of the workshop we'll all still be gathering and playing informally.

Welcome, Keith. My wife's family is from Dothan (and Enterprise), but they saw the light and landed in California. Fortunately, the fried chicken family recipe survived the migration.

They have mountains back there? Just kidding. We don't have any that are much over 12,000 feet, so I really shouldn't be talking.
