Location: Valley Stream, NY | I have 2 Ovation guitars that I have been trying to figure out the exact year they were made and also their estimated value. The first one I bought used in the mid to late '80's and it's a Balladeer model 1861 but there is no seial number on the guitar at all. I went to the Ovation website and clicked on the crack the code link. Apparently it's a pretty old model made in either 1967 or '68. The pick up system was completely blown and I have since dropped a Fishman soundhole pick up in it.
The second guitar was given to me and it's an Ovation 1111-4 serial number G-657. Again I was able to determine that it was made from 1968-1970 but no definate answer. It's in pretty good shape and has the original hard shell case. No pick up in this one.
I'd really appreciate it if anyone can give me a little insight about these guitars and an estimated value on them. Thanks! |

Post pics will help alot. |
