Yeah, I know "Buy an Apple". I HAVE an Apple G3, that's not the problem. And don't give me this Linix crap. I also have a simple Windows PC and I have a simple Windoes question that I'm hoping someone out there knows the answer to.

Ya know on websites and email and stuff when you enter your username and password and it says "Do you want windows to remember this"? Well a long time ago I said "NO, don't ask again." But now I want to change my mind and I DO want the system to remember it so I don't have to type it every time. And I'll be ding-danged if I can figger out how to do it.

Advice? And YES, I do already have an Apple and NO I am not interested in Linix.

Thanks,
Dave

This link explains how to turn on autocomplete in Internet Explorer 7; this one tells you how to do it for IE6; finally, this one tells you how to do it for Firefox. HTH.

I do hope that "ding-danged" isn't your Password . . .

Nice, g8r. Dave, that should solve your problem.

Cliff, it would be irresponsible for Dave to post his password on the internet.
It's 'bosco'.

Doesn't solve the problem. The system remembers that for this particular entry I told it to NOT remember and DON'T ask again. I can't find how to "undo" the "don't ask" for this specific entry.

I guess I could try clearing all auto-completes and start over.

You could try linux crap. it does what you tell it to do. It does what you want it to do. it's free. It's not part of the great Gates-Jobs conspiracy.... (sorry, that's someone else's line).

Or you should learn never to say never... I feel a song coming on.

Send me the custom custom legend and I'll tell you the answer.

Try this.
Open - My Computer
Click on folder with "up arrow" to get to Desktop.
Right click on Internet Explorer (if that is your browser).
Click on "Properties".
Click "Content" tab.
On AutoComplete click Settings.
This should be what you're looking for.

Good Luck!

The great Gates-Jobs conspiracy pays my salary and has funded every guitar that I own.

Doesn't do it. I can turn GLOBAL autocomplete on and off. The problem is that once you say NO to a specific field on a specific page/form I can not find the way to reverse it. Someplace there must be a list of every field/password that you've told the system to remember and to NOT remember. I need to undo the NOT.

So it's kinda like a mobster complaining about getting ripped-off at the tables in Vegas?

I think that may be your only option. Before you do that, try the tips here .

Dave, a couple things come to mind that you could try. These are separate suggestions, but one of them might work.

1) Delete all the cookies for that site.

B) Disable (uncheck) the Autocomplete option(s) > Close IE > Reboot > Re-enable Autocomplete option(s).

Really, Dave. I'm surprised you don't use Firefox. Fewer security holes than IE, and most of IE7's new features have been in Firefox for over a year.
