does anybody have any suggestions where i can post some guitar sound clips for public access? free would be great but reasonable fees from the site would be considered.

I know some of the guys at Big Road Blues use soundclick . I can't believe Google doesn't have a music posting site.

Hey Randy, why not set up a web-page dedicated to your music? You'd be surprised how quickly it comes up in the Google ranks! Jeff and I can now just tell people to Google "guitars of fire" and voila! Also, MySpace is free and very easy. Go for it. LanakiJam.com!!

wouldn't it be the cat's meow if the OFC had a place for members to post audio clips? i imagine that has been considered before.

I LOVE that idea! Then you and I would not have to always say: "Hey listen to my new Adamas tune" or whatever. Just OFC clips of the day, all the time. Fantastic! Al?

Hate to be a wet blanket, but bandwidth costs money. Plus it may have to be monitored to prevent copyright issues.

That said, it would be a lot of fun!

...if someone was willing to host it.

here's a practice demo clip on my viper. gettin' used to playing electric again. plugged directly into the zoom (acoustic!) a2.1u pedal with a USB to the computer. it's kinda long but i am experimenting with different guitar settings. i had to convert from a wav file to mp3 before uploading. let's disco down!
sounds best with headphones.

hey wabbit,
thanks for the mediamax link. i registered there right after soundclick but mediamax has not sent me the authentication email yet. it took soundclick about 30 minutes to send it. i'll try 'em both eventually and stick with the one that works best for me.

interesting that i am getting what sounds like a handclap when i dampen the strings on some downstrokes. it's as if the handclap is coming from the drum machine, but it is the strings.

You know, Youtube is really convenient for uploading videos. And I've figured out how to download videos and convert them to mp3s.

Does anyone here know how to convert an mp3 to a format compatible with youtube?

It would just be the audio file. That would be a pretty good solution.

rick,
i think you'll have to attach it to a video file in order for a youtube upload. i attempted to upload just audio files before unsuccessfully. some folks post their songs to one photo or title that runs the length of the audio which is a decent workaround.

Great track with real "forward propulsion": Randy, you need a partner in crime to "bounce off" a track like this, to play some lead or counter-rhythm. Is there no one in your neck of the palms?

i don't get out enough, greg. i can probably figure out a lead or counter rhythm myself and do a sound on sound. i gotta clean up the original first. i was just playing spontaneously on the demo, wingin' it as i propulsed!
